On January 3 and 4 last, Alberto Sastre, Juan Pedro Sánchez and Arturo Cerezo, from the Spanish subsidiary company Sika S.A., gave a course to CESVIMAP personnel on “Adhesives Technology in the transport sector”.

The course, which was of great technical interest, covered the applications of adhesives in different vehicle types: passenger cars, buses and industrial vehicle bodywork, all backed up by extensive technical documentation.

The Sika technicians explained the different adhesives technologies, such as polyurethanes, structural acrylates, epoxy polyurethanes, hot melts, laminating adhesives and hybrid polyurethanes, amongst others. They went on to analyse their main properties, the most suitable applications and the advantages to be had from using them in the different sectors and applications. The course had a high practical component, in order to acquire hands-on knowledge of the principle products and working procedures recommended by the manufacturer.
