The office representing MAPFRE Mutualidad in China, with the support of MAPFRE Internacional and MAPFRE Re, and with the collaboration of Road China, a subsidiary of MAPFRE Asistencia, has held two seminars given by CESVIMAP.

The celebration of these two seminars came within the setting of a visit carried out by members of CESVIMAP management, which aimed to learn about the characteristics of automobile accident claims management in that market, and about aspects relating to vehicles on the road in that country, manufacturers and repairers, amongst others.

The seminars were the climax of this visit. One seminar was devoted to insurance companies, focussing on the importance of technical management of the automobile sector as the basis for success in this sector. After the initial CESVIMAP presentation, particular attention was paid to knowledge of the risk as the real basis for premium calculations, on claims management, on the nature of the costs involved and their control, and on the different strategies in the field of claims adjusters and relations with vehicle repair shops.

The second seminar, directed at vehicle manufacturers, dealerships and repair shops, centred on the need for the repair shop to see itself as a business venture, and to carry out its management as such, striving for profitability, competitiveness and a way to offer quality services. Layout, work flow, equipment, professional profiles and relations with insurance companies were the subjects of greatest note.


Representatives of all the Chinese insurance companies (not life insurance) working in the automobile sector attended the seminar, along with the different trade associations and the main automobile manufacturers, and a large group of professionals in the bodywork and paintwork repair sector.
