Aluminum MIG welding
Advanced
Aimed at repair professionals who wish to expand their knowledge of aluminum welding techniques.
Employability: the growing use of aluminum in the manufacture of bodywork makes it necessary to know the most significant characteristics of this material, as well as its behavior versus different treatments. This course is oriented to explore all the repair possibilities and to know the different existing joining methods by welding in aluminum sheet, as well as the use of the precise tools.
Contents:
- Use of aluminum in the manufacture of car bodies.
- Characteristics of aluminum. Differences with steel.
- Weldability of aluminum and its alloys.
- Protection and security measures.
- Equipment for welding aluminum in the workshop.
- Aluminum sheet welding. Overlapping joint, butt joint, point joint to plug.
- Evaluation of weld results:
– Resistance test. Separation by bending.
– Depth of penetration. - Surface flaw detection. Penetrating fluid exam.
